It's Feijoa season and we get lots of them here in New Zealand. I have never heard of this unique fruit before coming here but when I ate it ,it was a mix of guava and pineapple.
Recently we had this gifted by one of our friends from their garden and I wanted to try Feijoa chutney with minimum ingredients. I went through lots of recipes but promise this recipe will not make you run to the supermarket for additional ingredients and you can relish the feijoa goodness.
Ingredients
-Feijoa pulp - 1 cup (scoop out the pulp with the help of spoon )
-Apple -1 1/2 cup (finely chopped)

-Raw sugar - 1/4 cup -Cinnamon stick - 1 inch -Paprika powder - 1 tsp (optional) -Star- anise - 1 -Cloves - 2 whole -Lemon juice - 2 tblspn -Vinegar -1 teaspoon -Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Step - Preparation
1. In a pan, heat oil, add Cinnamon + star-anise + cloves

3. Add Feijoa and cook for another 5-10 min
4. Add sugar and let it cook for another 10 min in a slow heat while
stirring continuously until chutney like consistency
